I extend my warmest congratulations to Pakistan’s newly appointed Ambassadors and Consuls General on their well-deserved appointments.

These appointments mark an important step in Pakistan’s continued commitment to strengthening its diplomatic presence and expanding its engagement with the international community. The newly appointed envoys assume their responsibilities at a time when constructive dialogue, international cooperation, and strategic partnerships are more important than ever.

Pakistan’s diplomatic missions play a vital role in fostering strong and enduring relationships with countries around the world. I am confident that our Ambassadors and Consuls General will continue to advance bilateral cooperation in trade and investment, education, research, innovation, security, climate action, parliamentary relations, and cultural exchange.

Maintaining close engagement with the Pakistani diaspora should remain a key priority. Pakistanis living abroad serve as valuable bridges between Pakistan and their host countries, making significant contributions to economic development, cultural understanding, and stronger people-to-people ties.

Economic diplomacy should continue to be at the heart of Pakistan’s foreign policy. By promoting trade, investment, entrepreneurship, and innovation, our diplomatic missions can help unlock new opportunities, strengthen international partnerships, and contribute to sustainable growth for the benefit of Pakistan and its global partners.

I wish all the newly appointed Ambassadors and Consuls General every success in their new assignments. May they serve Pakistan with distinction, integrity, professionalism, and vision while further strengthening Pakistan’s friendships and partnerships across the world.

The government has announced a fresh round of ambassadorial appointments across Europe, Africa, and Asia, reassigning several senior diplomats and filling key vacancies.

While announcing the postings, Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said the appointments build on the momentum of the past two years of active foreign policy engagement and international outreach. He expressed hope that Pakistan’s envoys would carry the mission forward with clarity and wisdom, with a clear emphasis on economic diplomacy.

In Europe, Saadia Altaf Qazi has been moved from Norway to serve as ambassador to Thailand, replacing Rukhsana Afzaal. Asim Ali Khan will take over in Oslo. Salman Sharif, currently serving at the Prime Minister’s Office, has been appointed ambassador to Germany, replacing Saqlain Syeda.

Ahmed Amjad Ali, now consul general in Los Angeles, will head Pakistan’s embassy in Sweden, replacing Bilal Hayee. Tipu Usman has been named high commissioner to the United Kingdom, replacing Dr. Mohammad Faisal.

At the United Nations in Geneva, Tahir Hussain Andrabi will serve as permanent representative, while Bilal Ahmed has been posted as ambassador to Kenya.

Further appointments include Irfan Ahmed to Tajikistan, Mudassir Tipu to Uzbekistan, Imran Ahmed Siddiqui to Iran, Hasnain Yousaf to Tanzania, Ashar Shahzad to Uganda, and Mohammad Aamir Khan to Nepal. Several new consul general postings were also announced.
