Pakistan–China Agriculture Investment Conference (PCAIC)

The Pakistan–China Agriculture Investment Conference (PCAIC), held in Islamabad, has been recognized by the Board of Investment (BOI) as a key milestone in advancing agricultural cooperation and investment facilitation under CPEC Phase II.

The conference brought together senior government officials, Pakistani and Chinese investors, agribusiness leaders, multinational firms, and sector experts to explore USD 1.345+ billion worth of investment opportunities across agriculture and allied sectors. Discussions focused on technology transfer, value-chain development, smart farming, food processing, cold-chain logistics, and export-led growth.

The event was graced by the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, as Chief Guest, while H.E. Mr. Jiang Zaidong, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Pakistan, attended as Guest of Honour—reflecting the depth of Pakistan–China strategic economic partnership.

From an investment facilitation perspective, BOI highlighted its central role in promoting Pakistan as a competitive investment destination through policy and regulatory reforms, streamlined approvals, and coordinated engagement with federal and provincial stakeholders. Outcomes of recent Pakistan–China B2B engagements, including USD 9.9 billion worth of MoUs and Joint Ventures, further underscore Pakistan’s growing investment potential.

Under the leadership of Federal Minister for Board of Investment, Mr. Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh, BOI remains fully committed to facilitating foreign investment in priority sectors, including agriculture, and translating investor interest into bankable projects, joint ventures, and sustainable economic growth under CPEC Phase II.
