Ambassador Maja Derrous Mortensen recently visited NIC Islamabad to gain firsthand insight into how this flagship initiative of the 🇵🇰 Ministry of IT and Telecommunication, managed by a consortium of leading commercial partners, is contributing to the development of Pakistan’s startup ecosystem.

NIC has supported over 450 startups, including 75 women-led ventures, facilitated investments exceeding PKR 31 billion, and played a role in the creation of more than 200,000 direct and indirect jobs nationwide.

During the visit, the Ambassador toured NIC’s state-of-the-art infrastructure, including specialised DeepTech laboratories, underscoring the role of innovation, technology, and collaboration in advancing sustainable economic growth and entrepreneurship in Pakistan.
